Materials Testing Laboratory

Mechanical and material testing represents the central part of our (bio)mechanical laboratories. In our materials testing lab we have screw-driven testing devices for static or quasi-static testing material testing (Zwick) and a hydraulic testing machine (Instron) for dynamic testing. Many custom-built gripping or coupling devices to hold all sorts of biological specimens from murine tibia to bovine spine are at our disposal. Furthermore, a comprehensive choice of load cells and extensometers warrants accurate measurement of loads and deformations.
Some of our material test procedures are accredited according to ISO 17025.
