Histology

Our histological laboratory is specialised in the field of bone histology. Following fixation and dehydration the bone is embedded in polymethyl methacrylate. The slices are produced, as described by Donath, with a special milling machine. Beside the milling machine various sawing and grinding machines are available. Different cells and structures can be stained with special dyes (e.g. Paragon, Trichrom-Goldner, Giemsa). Additionally paraffin histology can be done. Special cells or cell products can be stained by immunohisto-chemistry.
